It was sometime during the year 2015 that I had the following dream. I dreamt that I was going somewhere with my husband and two other persons. We were in a bush-like area. Some would identify with the area as forest-like, while others as wild-like. There were a lot of trees and shrubbery. It was green everywhere and there was a pathway leading to the other side. We were all heading to the other side but then we were unable to go any further. We were at a standstill. When I looked I saw whitish looking caterpillars everywhere. It was an infestation. They were covering all the trees and bushes. Then it started to rain. As the rain fell and came into contact with the caterpillars, they started to dissolve and disappear. When they were all gone, the rain stopped and then we were able to crossover. After I came out of the dream, Ruach HaKodesh said to me,
“You were prevented from crossing over because if you had at that time, you would have carried the infestation with you. And you cannot afford to take these things where you are going.”
I shared the dream with my husband. A while after, he showed me a photo and asked me if that is the caterpillar I saw. I confirmed that it was, after which he said that that was a cankerworm.
WHAT ARE CANKERWORMS?
“Cankerworms, also called inchworms, loopers, or spanworms, are caterpillars that move with a distinctive “looping” motion. Small numbers of cankerworms are present every year but occasionally large outbreaks occur. When this happens, cankerworms can cause significant defoliation of a variety of deciduous landscape and forest trees.
Newly hatched larvae eat the soft tissue of young leaves at the tips of branches, giving them a skeletonized appearance. Larger larvae eat all but the midribs or tougher veins of expanded leaves. Most damage occurs about the time the leaves become fully developed. Trees may be completely stripped of foliage; some trees never have a chance to leaf out.” https://entomology.ca.uky.edu/ef401

Cankerworms are destroyers. As seen in
Joel 1:4 KJV “That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten.”
WHAT IS THE LORD REVEALING?
There are things, people and situations whose sole purpose is to eat away at your substance and strip you of your joy, peace, contentment, relationships, and all that the LORD has prepared for you. Many times we are unaware of this and so we can carry on with life only to end up in a place where we stand to lose it all because of the infestation of these “cankerworms” in our lives.
Thankfully the grace of God saves us over and over again. This can manifest in the form of delays and disappointments. We do not understand at times; however, in times like these, we are placed at a standstill until the Spirit and Presence of God rains down, and dissolves and dismantles every destructive spirit and presence. Once the coast is clear, the LORD will then allow us to enter into His promise.
Father we thank You for Your grace. We thank You for keeping and protecting us even when we do not understand. Grant us wisdom and understanding, Father, to know when to standstill and not fight against Your work in our lives. Holy Spirit rain in our lives and dissolve and dismantle every infestation and representation of cankerworms so that we can enter into our promise. In and through Yeshua HaMashiach, amen!
