Thanks again for joining us another week for the 8-week Kingdom of God Teaching Series. For those who may be joining us for the first time, “Welcome!”. Be sure to go back and check out the previous weeks’ posts! Today we will be talking about what happens within the Kingdom of God.
Let us begin!
The Spirit of Adonai ELOHIM is upon me, because ADONAI has anointed me to announce good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted; to proclaim freedom to the captives, to let out into light those bound in the dark; to proclaim the year of the favor of ADONAI and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, yes, provide for those in Tziyon who mourn, giving them garlands instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, a cloak of praise instead of a heavy spirit, so that they will be called oaks of righteousness planted by ADONAI, in which he takes pride. They will rebuild the ancient ruins, restore sites long destroyed; they will renew the ruined cities, destroyed many generations ago. Strangers will stand and feed your flocks, foreigners plow your land and tend your vines; but you will be called cohanim of ADONAI, spoken of as ministers to our God. You will feed on the wealth of nations, and revel in their riches. Because of your shame, which was doubled, and because they cried, “They deserve disgrace,” therefore in their land what they own will be doubled, and joy forever will be theirs. “For I, ADONAI, love justice; I hate robbery for burnt offerings. So I will be faithful to reward them and make an eternal covenant with them.” Their descendants will be known among the nations, their offspring among the peoples; all who see them will acknowledge that they are the seed ADONAI has blessed. I am so joyful in ADONAI! My soul rejoices in my God, for he has clothed me in salvation, dressed me with a robe of triumph, like a bridegroom wearing a festive turban, like a bride adorned with her jewels. For just as the earth brings forth its plants, or a garden makes its plants spring up, so ADONAI, God, will cause victory and glory to spring up before all nations. Isaiah 61 CJB
The scripture mentioned above is what Messiah Yeshua referenced in Luke 4:18-19 and reveals the things that should occur within the Kingdom of God.
The people of the Kingdom of God are anointed by the power of the Spirit of God to:
- Preach the good news of Yeshua HaMashiach
- Heal ALL who are sick physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually
- Set free those that are bound with the band of wickedness, in cycles of dysfunction and delay, and those held captive with chains of oppression
- Bring into a place of enlightenment and revelation those who are bound in the darkness of ignorance and lack of understanding.
- Proclaim the acceptable and favourable year of the LORD, as well as the day of vengeance of our God
Yeshua did not only preach the gospel of the Kingdom of God but signs, wonders, deliverance and miracles were manifested alongside the Word. He spoke about and displayed in action the intention and the heart of the LORD towards all men.
He preached repentance and taught the people how to live, while in the same vein he healed the sick, raised the dead, opened blinded eyes both physically and spiritually, cast out demons, cleansed the leper, and such like. From the inception of His ministry on earth, Yeshua preached and manifested the works of the Kingdom of God, and continued to preach the Kingdom, even after His death and resurrection until His ascension to the Father.
Messiah Yeshua lived an exemplary life for us so that we can carry on the work of the Kingdom of God. In addition, He sent a Teacher and Guide to enable us to do the work set before us. As a people who belong to the Kingdom of God, we are suppose to carry on the work of Christ and manifest the same power He manifested – as well as do even greater things than He did.
Empowerment is given through the Spirit of God to not only preach the gospel of this Kingdom but to also display signs, wonders, deliverance and miracles. Because we are possessed by Ruach HaKodesh who resurrected Christ from the dead, we are able to be and to do all that is required of us.
Within the LORD’s Kingdom, ALL is valuable. Each and every one of us have a measure of worth and weight; even the one considered the least in the Kingdom. Yeshua declared in Luke 7:28,
“… Among those that are born of women there is not a greater Prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the Kingdom of God is greater than he.”
It is of utmost importance that we carry out the work of the Kingdom and manifest the fruits thereof. If not, we are setting ourselves up to lose all that has been given to our charge; as is reflected in Matthew 21:33-41. It reads,
Now listen to another parable. There was a farmer who planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a pit for the winepress and built a tower; then he rented it to tenants and left. When harvest-time came, he sent his servants to the tenants to collect his share of the crop. But the tenants seized his servants—this one they beat up, that one they killed, another they stoned. So he sent some other servants, more than the first group, and they did the same to them. Finally, he sent them his son, saying, ‘My son they will respect.’ But when the tenants saw the son, they said to each other, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him and take his inheritance!’ So they grabbed him, threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. Now when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?” They answered him, “He will viciously destroy those vicious men and rent out the vineyard to other tenants who will give him his share of the crop when it’s due.”
If we do not do what is required of us, the Kingdom of God will be taken away from us and given to the kind of people that will produce its fruit – those who will honour YHVH by giving Him a return of produce on what was given to our responsibility.
Next Thursday, we will mention briefly what it takes to become a part of the Kingdom of God. How can one become a part of this Kingdom? OR How does one know or identify whether one is a part of the Kingdom or not? Let us know what are your thoughts in the comment section below.
Thank you for joining us as we learn together and grow together. Let’s continue in our exploration of the Kingdom!
